The second edition that the 2010 Flex hands-on specifies my Flex\"s battery together BXT-65-750.Accepted - no arguments.I purchased mine Flex (Feb2012) less than 2 years after that left the factory. I\"ve never replaced the battery.The battery in my Flex is tagged Motorcraft BXT-65-650. Yes, that\"s right, the battery sitting in ~ the engine compartment is smaller than the one mentioned by Ford\"s manual. The tiny black battery \"blanket\" the surrounds the battery is pristine. The threaded rod \"risers\" and nuts that secure the battery strap room uniformly oxidized. Over there is no visual indication that the battery was replaced before my acquisition of the vehicle. The battery continues to offer adequately, and I am not compelled to replace it.I will certainly not likely ever have the ability to explain exactly how this smaller-capacity battery involved exist within a auto that appears to need a larger battery. I attach an automatically battery charger to the battery every evening during the winter, since I perform not desire an unpleasant surprised in the morning.Here space my questions:1. Who knows, The battery can have to be switched out on the lot when it was brand-new if the factory battery was not up to snuff or ??Stock/motorcraft battery is a great old fashioned wet cell lead car battery and also not AGM.A 650 will not ache your auto but early t the lower amount of CCA it can make that harder to begin in the frigid cold.

The manufacturing facility probably place in a cheaper battery to save money (and it isn\"t AGM).FYI, when you affix the battery charger, do NOT attach the negative lead that the charger straight to the battery. Connect it come a body ground point. I can\"t remember specifically about the 2010 Flex, yet often time the factory will use various sizes battery in the exact same model. The smaller sized one can be offered on the greater volume / lower content models to minimize weight to help the EPA fuel economic climate numbers and reduce cost, while the larger ones are provided on the models with more options and the higher electrical loads. They most likely only introduce the bigger one in the hands-on to avoid confusion because the EPA load no much longer matters.
